Puffins are cute yet the word on the cliff is that they are vulnerable. They are on the IUCN Red List because their breeding grounds, being concentrated on a small number of sites, make them very vulnerable to changes in the environment.

Although mainly spotted in the North of England and Scotland, a good place to see them is in North Devon at Lundy Island which means Puffin Island in Norse (Lund = Puffin and ey = Island). They migrate from the Bay of Biscay.

The best time to see them is in June and July when they are feeding their hungry chicks.
